EXERCISE · BARBELL
Larsen Press
Chest
Lie back on a flat bench as you would for a normal bench press, but lift your feet off the floor and let your legs hang or cross at the ankles rather than planting them. The bar path is identical to a standard bench press, straight down to your chest and back up -- this isn't an overhead press, just a bench press with your legs out of the equation. Without your feet driving into the floor, you lose the small boost of stability and force your hips normally provide, so your torso has to stay tight entirely from your upper body and core through every rep. Expect to move a little less weight than your usual bench press for the same reason.
