Jump Rope

Legs

The most common mistake is tensing your shoulders and upper body; jump rope should feel light and easy on your wrists, with all the work below your shoulders. Grip the handles loosely and let your forearms and wrists do the turning while your shoulders stay relaxed. Jump just high enough to clear the rope — extra height is wasted energy. Keep a steady pace and breathe rhythmically. Adjust your speed and duration to match your fitness; five minutes easy or thirty seconds all-out both count.
