Standing Crescent Pose

Core

Reach both arms straight overhead, fingers laced if that's comfortable, then lean your torso to one side while your hips stay square and facing forward, weight balanced evenly on both feet. The stretch should run in a long line up your side body, from your hip to your fingertips, not in your lower back -- if you feel it there, your hips have likely shifted sideways instead of staying stacked under your ribs. Keep breathing as you hold the lean; each exhale is a chance to lengthen a little further rather than sink into your shoulders. Come back through center with control and repeat on the other side.
