EXERCISE · BARBELL

Stiff-Leg Deadlift

Legs

Stand with the bar close to your shins and your legs almost straight, just a slight bend at your knees that stays fixed throughout. Hinge forward from your hips, pushing them back as the bar slides down the front of your legs, until you feel a strong stretch through your hamstrings. Your knees barely move here — nearly all the motion comes from your hips folding. Keep your back flat and your shoulder blades pulled back rather than rounding forward as you reach the bottom of the stretch. Drive your hips forward to stand back up, squeezing your glutes at the top rather than leaning back to finish the rep.
