Box Squat

Legs

The difference between a box squat and a regular squat is the touch — your hips lightly contact the box at the bottom, reset, and drive back up. This removes the bounce and forces you to initiate the drive from a dead stop, building bottom-end strength. Load the bar across your back and unrack it. Walk backward and sit back onto the box with control, making sure your knees track over your toes and your torso stays upright. Pause for just a moment, touch the box, then stand.
