EXERCISE · BARBELL
Bus Driver
Shoulders
Most people jerk the bar up with their arms instead of rotating their elbows underneath it. Start with the bar at shoulder height, elbows bent and pointing slightly forward. Your grip is firm but not white-knuckled. Rotate your elbows forward and underneath the bar while driving it up, keeping it close to your body. The bar should press straight up. At the top, your arms are extended and the bar is stable overhead—not in front, not behind. Lower it back down with control, rotating your elbows back out to the sides as the bar returns to shoulder height.
