Chest-to-Bar Pull-Up

Back

Hang from the bar with an overhand grip just outside your shoulders, then pull until your chest, not just your chin, reaches the bar. That extra range means driving your elbows down and back and opening your chest toward the bar rather than just curling your chin over it. Keep your shoulder blades pulling down and together through the whole pull so your upper back covers that last stretch, not just your arms. Lower all the way to a full hang between reps rather than stopping halfway, which is what makes the extra range actually count. Your torso can lean back slightly at the top to let your chest meet the bar without your chin getting in the way.
