Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown

Back

Take a grip on the bar noticeably wider than shoulder-width, palms facing away from you, and pull it down toward your upper chest by driving your elbows down and out to the sides. Lean back only slightly rather than using your whole torso to heave the bar down, and let it rise back up under control until your arms and shoulder blades are fully stretched overhead. The wider grip shortens your range of motion compared to a narrower one, but it shifts more emphasis onto the width of your back rather than letting your arms and biceps take over the pull. Keep your chest lifted throughout rather than rounding forward as the weight pulls you up.
