Decline Bench Press

ChestShouldersArms

Lie back on a bench angled downward, feet hooked under the pads to keep you from sliding up as you push. Take a grip a little wider than shoulder-width and lower the bar to your lower chest rather than the middle of your chest, since the decline angle changes where the bar naturally meets your body. Keep your shoulder blades pulled together and pressed into the bench throughout, rather than letting your upper back round as you push. The decline angle shifts more load onto your lower chest and shortens the range your shoulders travel through compared to a flat bench, which is easier on shoulders that don't love pressing overhead-adjacent angles.
