Single-Leg Calf Raise

Legs

Stand on one foot with the ball of that foot on the edge of a step, your other foot lifted or resting lightly behind you for balance. Let your heel drop below the edge to get a full stretch, then rise up onto your toes as high as you can. Hold something for balance if you need it, since standing on one leg is often the harder part before your calf even becomes the limiter. Lower back down slowly rather than dropping; the controlled descent on one leg is what makes this harder than the two-footed version.
