EXERCISE · BODYWEIGHT

Downward Dog

Back

Hands and feet on the floor, hips lifted high so your body forms an inverted V. Push the floor away through your palms to lengthen your spine, and draw your shoulder blades down away from your ears rather than letting them creep up. Your heels do not need to touch the ground, bend your knees as much as necessary to keep your back flat and long instead of rounded. Let your head hang relaxed between your arms. Walk your hands slightly forward if your shoulders feel pinched, or send your hips further back and up to deepen the stretch through your back and the backs of your legs.
