Shoulder Stand

Core

Lie on your back, then swing your legs up and over, using your hands to support your lower back as your hips lift off the floor. Walk your hands up your back toward your shoulder blades until your body stacks in a straight vertical line from shoulders to feet, weight resting on your shoulders and upper arms rather than your neck. Keep your chin tucked slightly away from your chest and your neck relaxed — the goal is for your shoulders and elbows to carry the load, not your cervical spine. Point your toes toward the ceiling and keep your legs together and straight. Come down slowly and with control, rolling through your spine one vertebra at a time rather than dropping your legs.
