Knees to Chest
Core
From a dead hang, curl your hips under and draw your knees up toward your chest without swinging to help them get there. Keep the motion coming from your hips and abs rather than kicking your legs up — a controlled curl works your core; a kick just borrows momentum. Lower your legs back down slowly rather than letting them drop and swing you off balance. This is a smaller range than bringing your knees all the way to your chin, which makes it a natural starting point before adding a kip or extending the range further.
