Kipping Chest-to-Bar

Back

Hang from the bar and generate momentum with a rhythmic arch-and-hollow swing through your shoulders and hips rather than pulling from a dead stop. As you swing forward, drive your hips and snap them back while pulling hard with your arms, using that combined power to bring your chest all the way to touch the bar, not just your chin. The kip does the heavy lifting on the way up — your job is timing the pull to land right as the swing peaks. Control the descent back into the next swing rather than letting your shoulders absorb a sudden drop at the bottom.
