Barbell Snatch
Shoulders
Take a wide grip on the bar, wide enough that when you stand tall with the bar at your hips your arms are roughly vertical. Start with the bar over your midfoot, hips lower than your shoulders, chest up. Pull the bar close to your body as you extend your hips and knees explosively, driving up onto your toes. As the bar reaches its peak, pull yourself under it rather than muscling it up with your arms, catching it overhead with your arms locked and your body dropped into a squat. Stand up to finish. The whole thing is one continuous acceleration from the floor to lockout — a pause anywhere in the pull kills the power you need to get under the bar.
