Kettlebell Snatch

Shoulders

The mistake that turns this into an arm exercise is trying to muscle the kettlebell up with your shoulder. The power comes from your hips snapping forward hard, the same way it would in a swing — your arm's only job is to guide the bell and get out of its way as it flips over the top of your hand. Start with the kettlebell swinging between your legs, hike it back, then explode your hips forward to send it upward close to your body. As it reaches shoulder height, punch your hand up through the handle so the bell rolls around your wrist instead of banging into your forearm. Catch it locked out overhead with your arm, ribs, and hips stacked in one line.
