EXERCISE · BARBELL
Clean Pull
Back
Most people rush the pull and swing the bar toward their body instead of letting it travel in a straight vertical path. Set up with the bar on the ground, feet hip-width apart, shins nearly touching the bar. Your shoulders are directly over the bar, back flat, core tight. Drive through your legs and hinge at the hips, extending explosively through your ankles and knees. As you extend, shrug your shoulders up high and pull your elbows up and back—the bar should travel straight up your body. The pull is one continuous motion from the ground to your hips. Lower the bar under control.
