EXERCISE · KETTLEBELL

Weighted Sumo Squat

Legs

Widen your stance well beyond shoulder width, turn your toes out, and hold a kettlebell with both hands hanging straight down between your legs. The wide stance and outward foot angle shift more of the work onto your inner thighs and glutes compared with a shoulder-width squat. Push your hips back slightly and bend your knees, tracking them out over your toes as you lower until the kettlebell nearly touches the floor. Keep your chest up and your back flat rather than rounding forward to reach the weight down. Drive through your whole foot to stand, squeezing your glutes and inner thighs together at the top.
