Barbell Shrug
BackShoulders
This one exists to build your traps directly — the deadlift and row hit them some, but the shrug is the movement that isolates them on purpose. Hold the bar with an overhand grip just outside your hips, arms straight and hanging. Lift your shoulders straight up toward your ears, not back or in a rolling motion — up and down is the whole path. Squeeze at the top for a moment, then lower under control rather than letting the bar drop and yank on your shoulders. Keep your elbows soft and your arms passive throughout; they're just hooks holding the bar, not part of the lift.
