Dumbbell Upright Row

ShouldersArms

Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs, palms facing your body. Pull both dumbbells straight up along your body, elbows leading and rising above your wrists, until your upper arms are roughly level with your shoulders. Because each dumbbell moves independently, your hands can drift slightly wider apart than a bar would allow, which is easier on your wrists if a close grip bothers them. Lower with the same control you used to lift, keeping the dumbbells close to your body rather than letting them swing out.
