Incline Push-Up

Chest

Place your hands on a bench, step, or railing higher than the floor, feet on the ground behind you, body in a straight line from shoulders to ankles. The raised hands take some of your bodyweight out of the movement, so this is an easier variation than a standard floor push-up, a useful place to build the pattern and the strength to work down toward the floor. Lower your chest toward the raised surface with your elbows at roughly a 45-degree angle, then press back up to full extension. The higher the surface, the lighter the exercise, so lower the height as it becomes comfortable rather than staying at an easy height indefinitely.
