Step Up

LegsCore

The thing that separates a good step up from a glorified jump is control — drive through your working leg without pushing off your back foot at all. Pick a box roughly knee-height to start; too high and you'll compensate by pushing off the floor. Place your whole foot on the box, weight over your midfoot, and stand up using only that leg until you're fully upright on top. Lower back down under control, tapping your trailing foot lightly rather than dropping into it. Hold dumbbells at your sides for extra load once bodyweight feels easy, finishing all your reps on one leg before switching.
