Lunge

LegsCore

Most people let their front knee drift forward past their toes and their back knee slam into the floor — both are signs of a step that's too short. Step forward far enough that your front shin stays close to vertical when your back knee lightly taps down. Lower straight down rather than lunging forward into the step, keeping your torso upright over your hips. Your front knee should track in line with your front foot, not caving inward. Push back through your front heel to return to standing. Hold a dumbbell in each hand at your sides, or one at your chest for more core involvement — either way, finish one leg before switching.
