Close-Grip Push-Up
Arms
Set up in a push-up position with your hands close together under your chest, thumbs and index fingers nearly touching. Lower with your elbows tracking back along your sides rather than flaring out, which keeps the load on your triceps instead of your shoulders. The narrower base makes this noticeably harder to stabilize than a standard push-up, so keep your core braced and your hips from sagging or piking. Press back up by driving your palms into the floor and locking your elbows out fully at the top. Your arms, particularly the back of your upper arm, take a much bigger share of the work here than in a wider-handed push-up.
