Explosive Push-Up

Chest

Set up in a standard push-up position, then lower under control before driving up as fast and hard as you can, aiming for maximum speed off the floor rather than height. Your hands can stay in contact with the ground the whole time; the goal is pure force and speed through the press, not necessarily getting airborne. Keep your core braced through the drive so your hips don't buckle as you push hard, and finish with your elbows fully locked rather than stopping short. This builds pushing power without the impact of catching a jump, making it a good stepping stone toward push-ups where your hands do leave the floor.
