Muscle-Up

Back

The difference between a smooth muscle-up and a stalled shoulder is what happens at the transition from pull to dip. You need enough pull momentum to get your chest above the bar, but you also need to shift your weight from pulling with your back to pushing with your shoulders instantly. It's not a continuous motion — it's a pull, a pause while you reset your grip and position, then a push out and up. The people who string these together practice hitting that middle position every rep. Don't treat it as one long pull; think of it as pull and press with a brief reset in between.
