EXERCISE · DUMBBELL
Partial Lateral Raise
Shoulders
Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides, then raise both arms out through only the top portion of a lateral raise, roughly from shoulder height up to about ear height. You're skipping the bottom half of the movement on purpose, staying in the zone where your shoulder is doing the most work. Because you're never resting the weight at your sides, your shoulders stay under constant tension for the whole set instead of getting a break at the bottom of each rep. Keep your torso still and resist the urge to add a shrug or a lean to grind out the top few centimetres.
