Dumbbell Fly
ChestShoulders
Before you lower the dumbbells, set the bend in your elbows you intend to hold for the whole set — usually a soft, fixed angle — and don't let it change as you go. Losing that bend partway down turns the fly into a half-press and shifts the work off your chest. Lying on a bench, lower the dumbbells out to the sides in a wide arc until you feel a stretch across your chest, keeping your wrists stacked over your elbows. Bring them back together in the same arc, squeezing your chest at the top without knocking the dumbbells into each other. Keep the motion slow — this is a stretch-and-squeeze exercise, not a fast one.
