Wide Push-Up

Chest

Set your hands wider than shoulder-width apart, fingers turned out slightly rather than pointing straight ahead. The wider base shortens your range of motion but stretches your chest harder at the bottom than a standard push-up does. Lower until you feel that stretch across your chest, elbows flaring closer to a right angle from your body rather than tracking back along your sides, then press back to full extension. Keep a straight line from shoulders to heels; the wider hand position makes it easier for your hips to sag if your core isn't braced going in.
